OBIT: Nancy Louise Boyer (Elderton)

Nancy Louise Boyer, 83, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at ACMH.

She was born September 27, 1931, in West Lebanon, Indiana County, the daughter of James A. and Garnet (Devers) Patterson.

Louise previously worked for Nationwide Insurance as a secretary and also provided notary public service to the Elderton area.

Louise was a member of the Elderton Presbyterian Church where she sang in the Choir.

She held memberships with a number of organizations, such as the American Legion Auxiliary, Elderton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Pine-e Camping Club, and the Punxsutawney Antique Car Club.

Besides her love for camping, she enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, playing the piano and singing with “The Boyer Trio.”

Family and friends were important to Louise but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Louise will be deeply missed by her husband of 65 years, Donald G. Boyer; son, Tracy Boyer and wife, Karen; two daughters: Bonnie Gratzmiller and husband, Tom, and Shawnee Boyer Hohl and husband, Jeff; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Marybelle Bennett; sister-in-law, Elaine Daughtery and husband, Clyde; five nephews; and one niece.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Curtis James Patterson; and sister, Gertrude Evans.

At Louise’s request, services will be private, with arrangements through the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home.
