OBIT: Clarence M. Bowser (Kittanning)

Clarence M. Bowser, 91 of Kittanning, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at ACMH.

He was born January 19, 1923 in North Buffalo Township to Emmitt M. and Bessie (Sloniger) Bowser.

A lifelong community resident, Clarence worked for PPG in Ford City, where he retired from in 1992 after working 41 years and receiving a distinguished service award.

He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

A member of the Center Hill Church of the Brethren, Clarence enjoyed the outdoors: such as working outside, going for car rides and spending time with the wife and family.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Emmy (Yount) Bowser of Kittanning; daughter, Linda (Delbert) Smeltzer of Kittanning; grandson, Cory Smeltzer of Kittanning; granddaughter, Tara (Ara) Yeterian of Kittanning; two great-grandchildren: Anna and Adam Yeterian of Kittanning; and sister, Betty (Roy) Heilman of Kittanning.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruth Bowser; nine sisters: Violet Smith, Alice Evans, Olive Noble, Mary Bowser, Virginia Morrison, Lottie Bell Bowser, Goldie Pollock, Dorothy Brown, and Louise Boams; and brother, Herbert Bowser.

Funeral services will be private and led by his church pastor, the Rev. Wes Berkebile.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
