OBIT: C. Lucille Snyder (Cowansville)
C. Lucille Snyder, 100 of Cowansville, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at ACMH.
She was born March 19, 1914 in Grove City to John and Jessie (Guthrie) Wylie.
She was a member of the first graduating class of Worthington High School, and an 81-year member of Union First Presbyterian Church in Cowansville, where she was the oldest living member and for many years taught Sunday School and served as an elder.
She was also a member of Golden Links and Women’s Association, a past matron of Kittanning Chapter #277 Order of Eastern Star, a past officer of Kittanning Court #126 Order of Amarath, and a past officer and a district deputy of Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by her son, Duane Snyder of Kittanning; daughter, Marvene and husband, Dr. O.G. Bowser of Cowansville; three granddaughters: Tracey Thomaswick (and husband Ron) of Murrysville, Georgia, Becky Snyder of Kittanning and Amy Blakney (and husband, Terry) of Erie; and four great-grandchildren: Zachary and Emma Thomaswick and Aaron and Ryan Blakney.
The family also would like to extend a special thank you to her caretaker, Cindy Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years (from July 29, 1933 until his death in 1995), Walter G. Snyder; brother, Lawrence Wylie; and daughter-in-law, Nancy J. Snyder.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8PM tomorrow - Saturday, December 6, 2014 - at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville.
Additional visitation will be available from 12:30PM until the time of a funeral service at 1:30PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Union First Presbyterian Church in Cowansville.
Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
