07/17/1969 – The Rev. Irvin Mitchell, former Armstrong county motor club manager and Kittanning insurance agent, was ordained to the Episcopal Diaconate in Trinity Cathedral, Phoenix, Arizona. Father Mitchell resided in Kittanning from 1946 to 1966 and was well known in the area as the manager of the AAA Club, and a former vestryman of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Kittanning.
07/17/1969 – The congregation of the First Methodist Church of Kittanning will hold a reception to welcome the Rev. Roger Shaffer family. Mr. Shaffer comes to Kittanning after a nine-year ministry at the McKees Rocks United Methodist Church.
