A young man was killed Friday night, May 10, when the street bike he was riding left the roadway and struck an embankment along the Dime Road in Parks Township.
Alec D. Miller, 21, of North Apollo, was traveling north on his 2018 Husqvarna motorcycle at approximately 8:12 PM when it left the road way and struck an embankment. Miller was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Armstrong County Chief Deputy Coroner Robert Bellas.
The Coroner’s office said speed is believed to be a factor. It is unsure if Miller was wearing a helmet. The cause of death was blunt force trauma to head and the manner of death was accidental. No autopsy will be completed. Toxicological results will take a few weeks to complete.
The Coroner’s office was assisted at the scene by Parks Township Police, Parks Township Fire Department, and other fire departments from North Apollo, Burrell Township, and Bethel Township. The Oklahoma Ambulance was also on scene..
