State Police Perform More DUI Arrests

State Police have reported multiple cases of DUI by either alcohol or marijuana during the first two weeks of April.

A traffic stop was conducted on Main Street, Manor Township. During the stop, Trooper Kalee Wietrzykowski observed a glass marijuana smoking device in the back seat. The 27-year-old unidentified male from Ford City displayed multiple signs of impairment during field sobriety tests. The driver consented to a blood test, and charges are pending lab results.

Trooper Travis Turkalj conducted a traffic stop after observing various violations at Route 66 and Main Street, Ford City. Upon further investigation, the operator was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody. A breath test was administered and the BAC was 0.162%. Charges for DUI will be filed accordingly.

An unidentified 23-year-old Butler man was arrested for driving while intoxicated along Scenic Drive and Route 422 in Manor Township. Charges will be filed following lab results.

A crash was reported when an unidentified 21-year-old driver from Ford City hit a concrete curb on the right side of the roadway on South Water Street in Manor Township and disabled his vehicle. After further investigation, the suspect was found to be intoxicated and transported to ACMH for a blood test. Charges are pending lab results.

State Police Trooper Travis Turkalj responded to a disabled motorist on Route 1025 in Mahoning Township. The truck belonged to a residence nearby. Upon further investigation, the owner of the truck admitted to operating the vehicle. Signs of impairment were observed, and a breath test was administered. The operator was a .186%. The operator refused to be released to a sober adult, so charges were prepared and he was subsequently lodged in the Armstrong County Jail.
