7/11/1958 - Kittanning Fireman’s Band first place record ended at 54 straight at the Arnold fireman’s parade. For the first time since 1955 the band lost out to another one in the senior division, Indiana. The winners received $75.

7/11/1958 - Defective wiring is believed to have been responsible for a fire in the Leroy H Serene garage. Center Hill (Kittanning RD 4), about 2:45 pm yesterday according to West Kittanning Fire Chief Harry Densmore.

7/11/1938 - 5 Kittanning residents escaped death as a stalled car they had just deserted on the PA Railway tracks at Campbell St Crossing was struck by a northbound passenger train. Mrs. Fred Boylestein, operator of the car, was treated in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital for minor leg bruises suffered when the car, knocked off the tracks, struck her a glancing blow.
7/11/1938 - Heavy loss was occasioned to at least one Clarion County farmer by an electrical storm which moved in an uncertain path over the Allegheny Valley. Lightning set fire to a large frame barn on the farm of George Wagner, Rimersburg RD, with loss of the barn and its entire contents.
7/11/1933 - The 1932 audit covering the cost of assessments of boroughs and townships in Armstrong County in 1931 came in for a severe and scathing denouncement by WL Nall, president of the Armstrong County Tax Justice League. He spoke before members of Manor Twp unit in Pleasant View School.
7/11/1933 - Statistics relative to the enrollment of students in Armstrong County schools at the close of the 1932-33 school year, now being compiled at the office of County Superintendent of Schools CM Heilman, show that the number of boys enrolled in the county exceed the number of girls by a large amount.

7/11/1928 - Falling a distance of about 14 ft over the edge of a dam at Yatesboro, where he had spent several hours swimming, Harry G Steim, 18, from Rayburn Twp, suffered a crushed skull which resulted in instant death.
