The 10th Street Station will host a Benefit Show and Dance this Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will have local artists Stan and Katt Hefner at the show.
“We are doing this show because Katt Hefner has come back to Ford City,” 10th Street Station co-owner Ron Olson said. “We wanted to give the community the chance to hear her live.”
Hefner is a talented an accomplish singer and writer originally Ford City and currently lives in the suburbs of Sarasota/Bradenton Florida. She has traveled to venues all over the country including Milwaukee and has even traveled internationally to Moscow.
“My favorite part about performing is being able to touch the hearts of people,” Hefner said. “We are doing this as a benefit to the Orphans of the Storm and the Ford City Renaissance.”
“Orphans of the Storm are in a tough spot,” Olsen said. “They are in a flood plain that puts the animals and staff in jeopardy from big storms. They need funds to try to get a new facility. We’re trying to help them financially.”
With two accomplished artists back in the area, it is definitely a must see event. The two have a deep history with Jazz music and have accomplished so much in their careers. Hefner was invited to perform during the 16th Annual Moscow International Jazz Festival and “Stan the Man” is a self taught musician who has an array of songs listed in the Library of Congress.
“I really love sharing the talent that God has given us” Hefner said. “Stan is so talented. Everything he has written or scored perfectly so it will fit to our style and my voice.”

Hefner’s praise for her brother continued even to the naming of Skattan Productions.
“His music surrounds me,” Hefner said. “That’s how I came up with Skattan Productions. Stan and Katt, it’s a combination of the names.”
The 10th Street Station has been around for a while, but make sure to look for more shows in the future.
“The place was purchased back in 2000,” Olsen said. “We’ve held dances, done wedding celebrations and other various events that are open to the public. We’re going to try to do more of these things, bring some different music culture to the Ford City and Kittanning area. We will do more shows in the winter.”
The show on Friday may feature musicians with a huge jazz background, but Saturdays benefit show will be more than just jazz.
“We’re going to be a doing a little bit of jazz,” Hefner said. “We’re also going to do some songs from the 70’s and 80s that we love to dance to so people can get up and have a good time.”
“I like the things that I see happening in Ford City, Hefner said. “It’s nice to see the t own is waking up again and seeing its value.”
