Strong pitching by Logan Gawlinski mixed in with an onslaught of hits early on in the game turned out to be the difference maker between the Nationals and Brewers of the 2018 Spring Armstrong Little League Wednesday.

RBI double in the first inning by pitcher Cameron Wolfe gave the Nationals a 1-0 lead early in the first, but would be their only lead of the night. Brewers answered back with three runs in the bottom of the first and added five more in the bottom of the second inning.

The Brewers were held scoreless after the first two innings, but the 8-1 deficit proved to be too steep of a hill to climb for the Nationals. Right fielder Caden Neiswonger, Third Basemen Jacob Panchik and Wolfe all had RBIs in the final few frames but wasn’t enough to reclaim the lead.

The Nationals will play the Yankees Monday at 5:30 PM on Montebell field. The Brewers will take on the Cubs at 7:30 PM May 30 at Pawkovich field.
