Esther (Gaydos) Emery, 84, of Kittanning left us to go to the Lord on Sunday November 26, 2017 in her residence.
She was born April 13, 1933 in Clune, PA to Frank and Irene Gaydos and was a graduate of Elders Ridge High School.
Esther was employed as Circulation Manager at the Leader Times, from where she retired.
Esther was an avid gardener and loved tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, which flourished each year. For years she worked for the Armstrong County elections office at the Hose Co. #4 polling location. She was active in the Hose Co. #6 Ladies Auxiliary for years while her husband Don served as a member of the organization. Esther touched the lives of many young ladies in the area by serving as a Girl Scout leader and organizing trips and outings. Esther liked to read, and became an avid reader of mysteries. She was a member of St. Mary Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Kittanning.
Esther was the matriarch of the Emery family, and enjoyed spending time with her children and talking with them on the phone. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments.
Esther was married for 58 years to Don Emery of Kittanning, who passed away December 13, 2014. She is survived by her 5 children and their families. Jackie of Pennsylvania, Joyce of Georgia, Don of Florida, Jon of South Carolina, and Mark of Virginia: 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, who loved her gardens, and one great grandson on the way. She is also survived by two Brothers: Frank Gaydos of Vandergrift and Don Gaydos of Indiana, PA.

family and friends will be received on Friday December 1, 2017 in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home Kittanning from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Parting prayers will be held in the funeral home at 10:30am on Saturday followed by a funeral mass at 11:00am in in St. Mary Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 11:00am with Rev. Douglas E. Dorula officiating. Burial will follow in Kittanning Cemetery
