Armstrong Falls to Mercyhurst in Freeport International Tournament

Armstrong was the host for a Freeport International Tournament game on Thursday afternoon against Mercyhurst.

Armstrong - a team made up of players from the Armstrong 18U Prospect team, the W/K Stangs, Armstrong Junior Legion, and more - lost 15-9.

Mercyhurst was able to take a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Armstrong rallied back in the bottom of the inning. They started with an RBI single from Sam Kiebler (pictured) to get Armstrong on the board for the first run, followed by an RBI single from Reise Matson to bring the score to 3-2 after one inning of play.

The game would go back and forth, with Mercyhurst pouring in 5 runs in the third and 7 runs in the fifth inning to take the 15-9 victory.

Armstrong will be back at home Friday, July 21 to host CT Storm at 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM before taking on the International team on Saturday, July 22.
