Stangs Split Games in Double Header Against Fox Chapel

The W/K Stangs Palomino baseball team traveled to Fox Chapel on Saturday for a double-header in which the won one and lost the second game.

The Stangs started out the day with a 2-0 win over Fox Chapel where Kyle Lazaroff (pictured) pitched a near perfect game, allowing just 2 hits in 7 innings of work, striking out 2 and only walking 4. It was a 2 RBI double from Josh Hepler in the top of the third that wound up being the deciding factor in game 1 of the double header.

Game two didn’t go as well for the Stangs as they fell to Fox Chapel by the final score of 4-3. The Stangs and Fox Chapel were both in the game until the end, tied at 3-3 heading into the seventh inning, but that is where Fox Chapel was able to pull ahead. In the top of the final inning, Fox Chapel was able to score the game winning run.

The Stangs will be back in action on this Tuesday as they travel to play Mars before heading back home to host North Hills on Wednesday, both games are scheduled to start at 6:00 PM.
