Two Injured in Kittanning Crash

Two drivers were injured when this car collided with an SUV on Tuesday afternoon shortly after 5:30.

A Tuesday afternoon accident at the corner of Market and McKean streets in downtown Kittanning caused injuries to both drivers.

73-year-old Alma Walker from Ford City was driving north on McKean Street when she attempted a left-hand turn onto Market Street into the path of an SUV driven by 68-year-old Daniel Haffey from Kittanning Township.

Mandy Cornman from Logansport was there and saw the crash when it occurred.

“(Both vehicles) had a green light, and he came through (the intersection) and she was making a left (turn) and he hit her.”

Haffey was taken by ambulance to ACMH Hospital. Walker complained of back pain and was checked by ambulance personnel. There is no word this morning on either of their conditions.

Kittanning #6 EMS responded to the scene, in addition to Kittanning Police. Kittanning Hose Company #1 volunteers assisted with clean-up and traffic control.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
