Street Superintendent Jim Mechling points to the next manhole cover on South Jefferson Street in Kittanning to Sewage Municipal Authority Manager Bill Slagle while Poker Woyton prepares equipment. Cooking grease is being blamed for backing up the main line sewer on South Jefferson Street in Kittanning last Friday night. Mechling said the sewage had reached the top of the manhole cover. They used a pressurized hose with 1,800 psi to blow the clog free. This is the second time in six months that grease has clogged the main sewer.
The plugged sewers is the crap coming from the courthouse under the last regime. Should clear up in a bit.
So the bars and restaurants nearby are dumping their grease down the drains. Pretty easy to tell who are. Ride by and see if they have drums of used grease sitting outside. It’s kittanning, we overlook that stuff!!
