The West Shamokin girls varsity basketball team will be traveling to Richland High School today to take on the Everett Warriors in the PIAA District 6 Semi-Finals, but not much is known locally about the Wolves opponent.
Everett finished the season with a 20-5 overall record and a 14-2 conference record.
Wolves Head Coach Frank Nagy said Everett was almost a mirror image of his own team.
This season, the Warriors averaged 57.4 points per-game, 32 rebounds a game, 13.2 steals per-game, and Everett shoots the ball 40% from the field.
Individually, Everett has three players who score 10 points or more a game and five who score 8 or more points per game.
Everett is lead by #4 Sydney Reffner who averages a team high 12.6 points per-game, another player that jumps off the page is #21 Cammie Jenkins who is 2nd in the team in scoring with 11.6 points per-game and she also averages 9.6 rebounds per-game.
West Shamokin will look to extend their historic season tonight against Everett and earn a trip to the PIAA District 6 Finals at Mount Aloysius before heading to states.
