“I think my favorite Christmas memory is just, when we (Pastor T.J. and husband, Pastor Ryan Lucas (pastor of St. Paul’s Community Church in Chicora) had kids (five-year-old Ella and three-year-old Willow), we had to figure out how to create new Christmas traditions because we could no longer do the Christmas traditions we grew up with because we had two little ones. One thing we do that’s special on Christmas is, we wake up and have a pancake breakfast. I make the pancakes with bacon and berries and then we have hot cocoa. When we first wake up, we don’t go right to toys – the first thing we go to is sharing a meal together and cooking together as a family. We make everything from scratch.”
