Friday will be senior night for the West Shamokin Wolves (4-4) and they will hope to bounce back from a 26-20 loss at the hands of the Homer-Center Wildcats.
Last week against the Wildcats the Wolves forced four turnovers (3 fumbles 1 interception) and nearly completed a fourth quarter comeback, but it was too little too late and Homer-Center was able to hold on for the win. Even with the four turnovers the West Shamokin offense, only one led to a score.
On the bright side the Wolves only had one 5-yard penalty last week.
This week the Wolves (3-0 at home this season) will look to remain undefeated at home as they host the Northern Cambria Colts (5-3).
The Colts come into this match-up with a 3-1 road record and average 306 yards and 11 touchdowns in those three road wins.
Northern Cambria is bringing a dynamic rushing attack into this game lead by senior running-back Chris Rippin. Last week against Saltsburg Rippin had a stellar performance racking up 168 yards on 14 carries for 14 yards-per-carry and two touchdowns.
The Colts also have three other players who have over 300 yards on the season, including sophomore quarterback Mark Marino who leads the team in rushing touchdowns with 7.
Kick-off is set for 7:00 PM at Jack E. Boyer Field.
