LOCAL SPORTS: West Armstrong Athletics End Season With Party

The West Armstrong Athletics spring baseball and softball players celebrated yet another successful season over the weekend.

George Pawkovich Field hosted a fun night for players and their family to celebrate yet another great season, which included a movie on the baseball field. The concession stand was open for the night providing drinks and snacks, including cotton candy and popcorn.

The players were not the only ones who enjoyed the night. West Armstrong Athletics President Gabe Lash who helped to organize the event went on to say.

“This was a wonderful way for the league to finish out the ball season and start another as we took sign-ups for fall ball”.

The movie was only part of the fun, as there were two Dick’s Sporting Goods gift cards given out which were raffled off by the end of the night. The winners of the two $50 gift cards were Ethan Totin and Regan Meyer. Pittsburgh Pirates gear was also raffled away; including a jersey, a hat,
and batting gloves.

After the movie was over and all prizes were raffled away, the night was topped off with an amazing fireworks display. The display was organized by Ken Traister of Glory on High Fireworks.
