Butler Man Scams Armstrong County Car Dealer

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an incident of theft by deception.

Last July, 58-year-old Joseph M. Musick of Butler purchased a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 from an Ohio dealership. The vehicle was financed for $43,720.33 through Wells Fargo Dealer Services.

The Ohio title on August 28, 2015 showed Wells Fargo as the lien holder.

On August 31, 2015, Musick had the Ohio title processed into a Pennsylvania title by Notary Carol King of Butler. At that time, King mistakenly failed to record the lien on the application for the PA title.

Since she failed to record the lien on the title, the title was mailed to Musick.

On September 10, 2015, Musick took the truck and title to Good’s Auto Sales and sold it to them for $30,900.

Musick never paid any money on the lien and is being charged with Theft by Deception and Defrauding Secured Creditors.
