OBIT: Kenneth Wayne Morris (West Kittanning)
Kenneth Wayne Morris, 66, of West Kittanning, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Armstrong County on March 29, 1946, the son of Edward K. “Ted” and Florence Elizabeth (Slagle) Morris.
Wayne was a lifetime resident of the area and graduated from Kittanning High School in 1965. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kittanning and worked as a surveyor for PennDOT for many years.
Wayne enjoyed being involved in the community and belonged to the Kittanning Men’s Club, Kittanning Moose #137, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Polish Falcon Nest #159 and the West Kittanning Fire Department.
After retirement, he enjoyed traveling between the many organizations he belonged and seeing his friends. Hunting was a favorite hobby of his and he loved spending time at “Camp Morris” in Vowinckel. Wayne had a special place in his heart for his beloved cat, Chef, who also recently passed away.
Despite Wayne’s many interests, above all he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his wife, son and grandchildren.
He will be remembered with love by his wife of 43 years, Georgia (Grates) Morris, who he married July 12, 1969; son, Matthew Morris of West Kittanning; three grandchildren: Bree Dudek, Mariah Morris and Bella Cousins; brother, Edward D. Morris of West Kittanning; four sisters: Paulette (Pete) Milito of Ford City, L.S. Snyder of West Kittanning, Janice (Bill) Ray of Elderton and Cindy (Gary) Yantos of Fenelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
