OBIT: E. Jean Stubrich (Kittanning Township)

E. Jean Stubrich, 91, of Kittanning Township, died Sunday, September 6, 2015.

She was born October 18, 1923 to I. Merne and Margery (Baker) Schall.

Jean worked for Indiana Sportswear and Big River Manufacturing, where she retired in 1985.

She was an active member of Christ (Rupp) Lutheran Church and a former chaplain and member of Kittanning Township Fireman’s Auxiliary.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, playing the piano and organ and raising tulips.

She is survived by her son, Donald J. Stubrich and wife, Barb, of Kittanning; two granddaughters: Marcy L. Prugh and husband, Chad, of Kittanning, and Heidi Harkleroad and husband, Kevin, of Kittanning; grandson, Shawn Warner and wife, Shauna, of Derry; two great-granddaughters: Sydney N. Prugh, of Kittanning, and Kaylee Joanne Harkleroad, of Kittanning; four great-grandsons: Ethan C. Prugh, of Kittanning, Bradley R. Harkleroad, of Kittanning, Kamren T. Harkleroad, of Kittanning, and Ryan J. Harkleroad, of Kittanning; two sisters: Helen M. Stitt, of Kittanning, and Mary A. Edwards, of Ford City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer W. Stubrich, who died April 27, 2010; son, Robert A. Stubrich, who died September 21, 1968; and daughter, Joanne E. Warner, who died February 26, 2003.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM today - Wednesday, September 9, 2015 - at the Kennedy and Blodgett Funeral Home in Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be offered from 9-10AM tomorrow - Thursday, September 10, 2015 - at the funeral home.

The funeral will be held at 11AM Thursday at Christ (Rupp) Lutheran Church, 228 Rupp Church Road, Kittanning.

There will be no viewing at the church.

The Rev. James Neal will be officiating.

Interment will be in Christ (Rupp) Lutheran Church Cemetery.
