OBIT: Maxine L. Rupert (Shelocta)
Maxine L. Rupert, 79, of Shelocta, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Indian Haven Nursing Home.
She was born March 1, 1936, in Armstrong Twp., Indiana County, PA, the daughter of Harvey Lester and Mary B. (Sloan) Rupert.
Maxine retired from Breeze Industries, a division of Trans Technology, of Saltsburg where she started in July of 1961 and worked as a machine operator for over 40 years. She attended the former St. Jacob’s Church and previously belonged to the Parkwood Grange as well as the Western Pennsylvania Teamsters. She enjoyed cooking, especially making chili. She found pleasure in making crafts as well as knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed flower gardening and working crossword puzzles. Maxine always prided herself with keeping in touch with family and friends who were dear to her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a brother, Theodore Rupert and wife, Twila, of Shelocta; a sister, Faye Allshouse of Lower Burrell; numerous nieces and nephews in addition to many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; a brother, Lisle H. “Bud” Rupert; and two sisters, Bernice Shoop and Betty Hainaut.
Relatives and friends may visit from 11AM-1PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA where funeral services will be held at 1PM.
Burial will follow in South Bend Cemetery, Shelocta, PA.
