County Detective Announces Commissioner Candidacy

Chief County Detective and Manor Township Supervisor Paul Rearick said he has the necessary experience to be a valuable Armstrong County Commissioner in 2016.

Chief County Detective and Manor Township supervisor, Paul Rearick, has announced his candidacy for county commissioner.
Rearick, who has been with the county since 1987 and has been involved in law enforcement for the past 35 years, is confident that his experience will be a valuable addition to the board.
“Since my background is in law enforcement, as a member of the board I would do everything possible to work with police departments to combat the serious drug problem in the county.”
Fighting drug trafficking in the area has always been important to Rearick. As Chief County Detective, he worked closely with the District Attorney and the Office of the Attorney General to set up and establish the Armstrong County Narcotics Enforcement Team (ARMNET).
Born and raised in Armstrong County, Rearick’s desire to serve the community is the driving force behind the campaign. His participation over the years in local government, both as a Kittanning Borough police officer and a township supervisor, has prepared him for working on the board, giving him an understanding of what local government needs to work efficiently.
And Rearick is no stranger to working with the Board of Commissioners. They appointed him to participate on the Southwestern Planning Commission Public Participation Panel and the Armstrong County Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
Rearick has spent a lifetime involved in making Armstrong County a better place to live for everyone. His running for this position is the next step in his desire to serve his community even more.
“I have devoted my career to serving and trying to make things better for the majority, not any individual or special interest groups,” said Rearick
“I want to keep taxes at a minimum and to work closely with people from all walks of life. I will be open to suggestions, and I will not be narrow-minded. I want to make residents proud to be able to say ‘I am from Armstrong County’.”

In his spare time, Rearick attends services at Harvest Community Church, is a life member of the National Rifle Association and a volunteer PA Game Commission Hunter/Trapper Education Instructor.
