OBIT: Shirley M. (Croyle) Chestnut (McGrann)
Shirley M. (Croyle) Chestnut, 77 of McGrann, died Monday, July 27, 2015 at home.
She was born July 12, 1938 in Kittanning to Thomas and Ruby (Toy) Croyle, Sr.
Shirley was a lifelong community resident who worked at the Armstrong County Health Center snack bar for many years.
She was also a social member of the CU Club in Ford City, and liked to bake, cook and go camping.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Diane (Tucker) Dowling of Kittanning; son, Jerry (Barb) Chestnut of McGrann, two granddaughters: Kelly Dowling of Kittanning and Kristin (Jeff) Ucciardo of Maryland; granddog, Pety; three great-grandchildren: Karli, Riley and Annabelle; three brothers: Richard (Margreit) Croyle of Ford City, RiCharles (Linda) Croyle of Reynoldsville and Robert (Terri) Ramer of Manorville; and three sisters: Linda Turpin of North Carolina, Patty (Frank) Lytle of Kittanning and Sue (Tom) Rosol of Garretts Run.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel O. Chestnut - who passed away January 20, 2008; brother, Tom Croyle, Jr.; and two sisters: Peg Ramer and Ruth Ann Sessoms.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
Additional visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of the funeral service at 11AM Friday, July 31, 2015 at the funeral home.
The Rev. John W. Snyder will officiate.
Interment will be in Croyle Cemetery.
