RIZZO: Everyone Likes Phil

Phil Mickelson has now won three Masters and five overall major golf titles. He is certainly a superstar in the golf world. Is Phil the most likeable major star in this generation? He is certainly viewed as the most family-centric star athlete. Kobe and Lebron have a lot of fans and endorsements, but I don’t think they’re the most likable. Farve? Probably not, but the thing with him, and Sidney for that matter, is they play in team sports and if they don’t play on your team you probably root against them. Federer is too quite, and Serena too flashy. Jeter too New York, and Tebow too young. Peyton Manning would probably be his best competition and, while he presents himself as clean cut, he doesn’t seem quite as approachable Phil.
