OBIT: Betty Lou Schreckengost

Betty Lou Schreckengost, age 83, of Kittanning died Friday, April 9, 2010, at Grey’s Colonial Acres.

She was born on October 14, 1926, in Kittanning, Armstrong Co., PA to Kenneth C. and Irene (Henry) Bauer.

Mrs. Schreckengost was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kittanning. She was previously employed as a bookkeeper for the former Heckman’s TV of Kittanning, where she retired with over twenty years of service. Betty enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Black and husband Bruce of New Smyrna, FL, and Peggy I. Ritchey and husband James of Kittanning; one grandson, Robert Black; three granddaughters, Tammy Black, Jamie Graham and husband Randy, and Leanne Smouse and husband Kevin; six great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Robert H. Bauer and Kenneth C. Bauer, Jr. and wife Sandy both of Kittanning.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert O. Schreckengost whom she married June 14, 1942 and who died February 15, 2005, and one brother, William L. Bauer.

Friends will be received from 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, where funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday with Rev. John W. Snyder officiating.

Interment will follow at Kittanning Cemetery, Rayburn Twp., Armstrong Co.

Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to Grey’s Colonial Acres, 272 Colonial Road, Kittanning, PA 16201.
