South Water Street Closes Following Labor Day
A Kittanning construction project will force a local street closure next week.
According to PennDOT officials, Route 1040 (South Water Street) in Kittanning Borough will close between Mulberry Street and Walnut Street to replace a sewer line as part of a Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) project.
The road - which was originally scheduled to close a few weeks ago before being delayed - will be closed from 6AM, Tuesday, Sept. 6 through 6PM on September 9.
A posted detour will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Didn’t we just pave this road recently??? Now we have to dig it up to replace the sewer line. I am sure the sewer line was fine when the road was a wreck. Who plans in this town?

Those new trees and bushes on Market Street need watered often the first year. Who does that?
