The DeLuca Dome: Insight into West Shamokin vs. Penns Manor
A few days have passed since the Wolves fell to the Blairsville Bobcats by a final score of 28-18, so now it is time to take a look into their match-up this Friday against Penns Manor.
Penns Manor is also coming into this match up with a 0-1 record after losing to Northern Cambria, meaning that someone is going to leave the stadium with their first win on the season (or they can tie just to spite me).
West Shamokin has a lot of momentum to build upon after their good second half against Blairsville in which they held the Bobcasts to 0 points and ended up scoring all 18 of their points.
The key for West Shamokin to win this game is simple: don’t commit so many penalties. A job much easier said than done, but the majority of the Bobcats’ points last week came from a short field due to penalties and missed assignments defensively.
Another key for West Shamokin this week is ball security. Last week the Wolves had a handful of fumbles, three alone by quarterback Devin Fairman. Keep the ball high and tight, just ask Tiki Barber!
Last week, Penns Manor lost to Northern Cambria where they allowed 230 yards rushing and three different ball carriers to score, earning them a 29-9 loss.
The Wolves were most effective last Friday when they kept Blairsville guessing. When the Wolves had a nice mix of both rushing and passing, they were very effective against Blairsville. I think it is key to get a nice balance early on to make Penns Manor respect the pass.
I believe if West Shamokin plays a smart game, mixes their offensive play-calling up, and keeps their nerves in check, they should walk away with a 1 in the win column.

The West Shamokin Wolves will look to bounce back this week against the Penns Manor Comets after their loss to the Blairsville Bobcats last Friday by a final score of 28-18
