Parker Residents Not Injured in Butler County Crash

A pair from Parker were not injured in a Washington Township crash last week.

In an updated news release from Pennsylvania State Police troopers, 77-year-old Robert Smith of Parker was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse on Oneida Valley Road at 3PM March 22 when a Kia Sorento -driven by Johnsonburg’s Katie Hetrick - crossed into his lane of travel from Washington Road.

Oneida Valley Road and Washington Road are both two-way streets divided by a double yellow line, but the intersection is a two-way, requiring eastbound traffic (in this case, Hetrick) to stop and yield to traffic on Oneida Valley Road (Smith).

The intersection is at the crest of a hill and is also controlled by flashing red lights.

Hetrick will be charged in the incident for violating her duties at a stop sign.
