Police Still Seeking Kittanning Vandals

Kittanning Borough Police are still on-the-lookout for a group of teenagers who vandalized a handful of public buildings last month.
Police Chief Bruce Mathews said a few weeks ago officers were informed of the red or white ‘666’ symbols spray-painted on the Kittanning Citizens Bridge, the former Kittanning Junior High School and in a few alleys.
The occult symbol was painted on one of the steel beams of the Kittanning Citizen’s Bridge. Area minister/councilman David Croyle asked Borough maintenance crews to contact PennDOT for procedure to remove it.
“It does all appear to be the same person,” Chief Mathews said. “We did check area videos from area surveillance (systems), and we do know that they are juveniles and/or young adults. There were two of them, and they had a Kittanning Wildcats varsity jacket on.”
“Based on everything, I would say that it was wannabes, somebody just razing. There were not any hardcore symbols.”
Borough Council President Pro-Tempe David Croyle hoped council members could work with PennDOT officials to clean up the spray paint soon.
“People notice a lot of things when they come into town that maybe we just kind-of ignore because we’re here all the time,” Croyle said.
He encouraged any local residents who notice vandalism to contact the Borough police department.
Police are following up on a few leads, as well as imposing digital images.
There were nearly 275 police calls during the month of November, which was a significant drop from the previous month. Mathews said the calls go down during colder weather.

FYI: an inverted cross is not a satanic symbol : The Cross of St. Peter or Petrine Cross is an inverted Latin cross traditionally used as a Christian symbol, but in recent times also used as an anti-Christian symbol.

Little do the uneducated vandals know that “666” is not originally associated with the devil, as stated in the Book of Revelations.
National Geographic did a piece on this one time. Google the true meaning for explanation.

I am still upset with the graffiti, too, as I am sure the perpetrators meant it the way most people do.
