OBIT: Richard Leroy Lowry (Kittanning)
Richard Leroy Lowry, 87 of Kittanning, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at ACMH Hospital.
He was born October 13, 1927 in Kittanning to Robert and Nellie (Lightner) Lowry.
Richard was a truck driver, and a U.S. Navy veteran - serving during World War II.
Richard was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Kittanning, the VFW, American Legion and Kittanning Men’s Club.
He enjoyed his camp near Benezette, Pa. and his dog, Quincy.
Richard is survived by his wife, Joyce (Bowers) Lowry - whom he married October 23, 1948; daughter, Sharon Rupert (and husband, Scott) of Lower Burrell; son, Richard Lowry (and wife, Michelle) of Slate Lick, four grandchildren: Andrew Rupert, Elizabeth Rupert-McMann (and husband, Jason), Richard Lowry, Jr. (and wife, Paula) and William Lowry (and wife, Alyana); three great-grandchildren: James McMann, Madison McMann and Callen Lowry; brother, Robert Ardell Lowry; sister, Donna Beynon; and sister-in-law, Nita Lowry.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Daryl Laverne Lowry and Donald Ray Lowry.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM on Sunday, October 11, 2015 in Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
Additional visitation will be offered from 10AM until the funeral service at 11AM Monday, October 12, 2015 in the funeral home.
The Rev. Dana Wilmot will be officiating.
Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
