OBIT: Carl L. Barton, Jr. (Chicora)
Carl L. Barton, Jr., 64 of Chicora, died Monday, October 5, 2015 in Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 3, 1950 in Kittanning to Carl and Mary (Bowser) Barton, Sr.
Carl graduated from Worthington High School in 1968 and was a member of the Worthington Baptist Church - where he previously served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
After graduating high school, he worked for five years at the Butler County Mushroom Farm and then, in February 1943, he became employed at Dumbaugh Electric as a professional winder.
In 1990, Carl became a part owner of Dumbaugh Electric Motors - where he was owner and executive until October 2012 when he became disabled from a massive stroke.
Carl’s main goal in life was to meet the Lord in Heaven and make a stand for Christ to teach his children the ways of the Lord so they could meet Him too.
Carl was a very hard worker - and his hobbies included being a farmer, tractors, farm equipment and exotic animals.
Before his unfortunate disability, Carl was in the process of getting his pilot’s license.
He gave his family many happy memories through his love of the Lord and his wit and wisdom.
Carl was a loving husband to his wife, Susan (Crawford) Barton - whom he married on November 7, 1970; father of two sons: Brent (and Tracee) Barton of East Brady and Daniel (Ashton) Barton of Chicora; daughter, Alesia (Thomas) King of Fenelton; proud pappy to six grandchildren: Stephanee, Benjamin, Jacob, Samuel, Brandon and Isabella; and great-pappy to Mayzee who all loved him dearly. He is also survived by his father, Carl Barton, Sr. of Worthington and three brothers: Barry (Karen) Barton of Butler, Scott (Pam) Barton of Worthington and Boyd (April) Barton of Cowansville.
Carol was preceded in death by his precious mother Mary - whom he loved dearly - along with two brothers, Shawn and Jeffrey Barton.
