Woman Injured in Motorcycle Accident

A woman was transported to a local hospital Tuesday evening following a motorcycle accident in West Kittanning.
The incident occurred about 10PM along Butler Road, nearly across from Dan Bowser Accounting and Tax Services and Tangles Hair Salon.
Pennsylvania State Police troopers from the Kittanning barracks investigated the accident, while Kittanning #6 Ambulance responders transported the unidentified woman about 10:20PM - reportedly to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township.
Troopers were also seen escorting one male into the back of one of the two police cruisers from the scene, but it is unknown his connection to the incident.
West Kittanning Fire Department’s heavy rescue truck assisted on the scene, as well as assisted with traffic control.
The accident also occurred near the Jordan’s Soft Serve ice cream parlor.
Owner Jeff Johns said he was just getting ready to close for the evening when he heard a thud.
“We heard a noise, but we weren’t sure what it was – and then 10 minutes later, the cops came by,” Johns said. “It was just like a thud, and I wasn’t sure if something had fallen
The scene was clear by 10:45PM, with volunteer firefighters leaving about 10 minutes earlier.
A blue Kawasawki motorcycle was towed from the scene by a Mohney’s Towing vehicle. It is unknown the damage to the motorcycle.
