BENNETT: An Open Letter to Senator Pat Toomey

by Jack Bennett

Dear Senator Toomey,

I find it amazing that you sent me a letter “Urgent - June 30 FEC Deadline” requesting me to support you in a re-election bid while at the same time you are working with Senator Manchin to revive gun control. I simply don’t know which Sen. Toomey you are trying to be.

Sir, in my opinion, you’re treading down a “slippery slope” trying to be all things to all people. That, I believe will back fire on you.. Perhaps a little history lesson is in order.

Do you remember Senator Joe Clark? He proposed some gun control also and “a million PA sportsmen” sent him crashing down to defeat.

Sir, what ever happened to: “I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.”

This administration, the one you appear to be supporting, has just about wrecked this country.

Now the way I see it, you can get to work to support the people (who overwhelmingly) do not want any more gun control. Do you have any idea what you are doing in that ballpark or are you just one of the “feel good” fellows who don’t know what to do but have to do something even if it won’t save one person.

When you decide whose side you’re working for, please let me know by personal communication (not some form letter by a staffer) and then I’ll decide where my support goes. AND, if you should want some “gun” advice, I’d be glad to provide it. I’m not an expert but I hold my own.

IN DEFENSE OF FREEDOM
