OBIT: Joye A. Ellermeyer (Kittanning)

Joye A. Ellermeyer, 86, of Kittanning, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Concordia of Monroeville.

She was born November 21, 1928 in Thayerton, (Mahoning Township) Armstrong County, to Jiulio and Isabel E. “Nan” (Goodyear) Zanchi.

Joye graduated from Ford City High School in 1946 and was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church from 1954 to the present.

From 1968 to 1982, she was the owner and operator of Ellermeyer Auto Sales and she was also a longtime volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul.

Family was paramount in Joye’s life and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Her memory will be cherished by her two sons: James W. Ellermeyer, III, of Pittsburgh, and Jeffrey L. Ellermeyer and wife, Cindy, of Summerville, South Carolina; daughter, Julie A. Shahidi and husband, Anoosh, of Westminster, Colo.; six grandchildren: James Ellermeyer, IV and wife, Alexis, Jaran Ellermeyer, Bradley Zellefrow, Anna Early and husband, Louis, Cara Hawkins and husband, Robert, and Alexis Shahidi; and two great-granddaughters: Ruby Joye Early and Amelia Hawkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, James W. Ellermeyer, Jr., who died June 18, 1982.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10AM on Monday, June 8, 2015, at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, with Father Alan Grote as celebrant.

Burial will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington. Arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Home in Kittanning.
