OBIT: Freda E. Karadeema (Kittanning)
Freda Elvena Karadeema, 82, of Kittanning, passed away on May 2, 2015 at the UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born on January 6, 1933 to Lawrence E. and Lily Pearl (Geiger) Bittinger in Cowanshannock Township. She was a member of Pleasant Union Lutheran Church.
Freda is survived by her son: David (Sally) Karadeema of Hayes, VA; daughter: Marcia (Larry) Unger of Worthington; two brothers: DeWayne Bittinger of Dandridge, TN and Russell Bittinger of Kittanning; sister: Lois Jean Bish of Kittanning; two grandsons: Joel Karadeema and Brandon Unger; granddaughter: Melanie Tinsley; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Joseph Karadeema, whom died July 1988; three brothers: Roy, Ken and Ward Bittinger; two sisters: Ethel Geidel and Alice Anderson; and a great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home in Rural Valley. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 11AM at the funeral home with Rev. John Snyder officiating. Additional viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in the Pleasant Union Cemetery.
