OBIT: Charles T. Stahlman, Jr.

Charles Thomas “Charlie” Stahlman Jr., 62, of Kittanning, passed away in the early morning hours Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, while surrounded by his family and loved ones.

He was born October 14, 1952 in Kittanning to Charles Stahlman Sr. and Delores Stahlman.

Helping others gave Charlie great joy, and his endless generosity is a trait that defined his purpose in life. Two of the most important things in his life were God and his family. If he was not at church, he was most likely spending time with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He dedicated several years of his life serving as a deacon and youth group leader and had a great impact on not only his family’s lives, but also everyone that he came into contact with.

Charlie also enjoyed the outdoors and watching professional sports, as he was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a faithful fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Renie (Culp) Stahlman; his two daughters: Jennifer (Bob) Flanigan and Joni Stahlman (Tim Christie) of Kittanning; three grandchildren: Mack, Mason and Maddox Flanigan, of Kittanning; sister, Debbie (Jim) Riederer, of Vandergrift; two brothers: Gary Stahlman, of Cowansville, and Larry Stahlman, of Kittanning; mother-in-law, Carol Culp; sister-in-law, Diane Culp, of Martinsburg, Va.; brother-in-law, Dave Culp, of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Susan (Mark) Stouffer, of Kittanning; sister-in-law, Cindy (Ben) Waugaman, of Fenelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Barb Stahlman, preceded him in death.

Friends and family will be welcome from 7-9PM tomorrow -Thursday, April 30, 2015 - in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville.

Additional visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9PM Friday, May 1, 2015 at the funeral home.

There will be a service at 11AM Saturday, May 2, 2015, in the funeral home, with Pastor Kurt Skelly officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the youth program at the Harvest Baptist Church in Natrona Heights.
