OBIT: Charles “Randy” Stonbraker (Home, Pa.)

Charles “Randy” Stonbraker, 67, of Home, PA, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at his residence.

He was born June 15, 1947 in Dayton, the son on Kenneth D. and Betty G. (Holben) Stonbraker.

Randy honorably served in the U.S. Air Force military police during the Vietnam War and after 23 years retired as a Master Sergeant.

Following his time in the Air Force, he worked as a foreman for JCPenney where he travelled to open new stores and refurbish old ones. In 1993, he started driving trucks for J. B. Hunt and then went on to drive for Frock Brothers of Ephrata, Pa.

Randy attended Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church. He loved being outdoors, and hunting, fishing, camping, boating, riding motorcycles and even birdwatching were some of his favorite hobbies.

Randy was always willing to help anyone in need and will be best remembered for being a very caring and giving man.

His memory will be cherished by his two sons: Lance Stonbraker and Michael Hiller, of Philadelphia; daughter, Kim Schonberger and husband, Jay, of Philadelphia; grandson, J.J. Schonberger; companion, Peggy Hadden, of Home; Peggy’s son and granddaughter, Wally Hadden and Shania Hadden, of Plumville; and former wife, Josephine Stonbraker, of Philadelphia.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 10AM until the time of the celebration of life service at noon on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 2540 Dayton Smicksburg Rd., Dayton, PA, with his cousin, Richard C. Stonbraker, officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home.
