OBIT: Robert A. Campbell (McGrann)

Robert A. “Soupy” Campbell, 75, of McGrann, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his residence.

He was born May 24, 1939 in Kittanning, a son of Arthur F. “Pump” Campbell and Clara Ruth Bish Campbell.

He went to the first EMT class held at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in 1974. He retired from Eljer in May of 2000 after 33 years. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in Germany and deployed for the Lebanon Crisis.

He was a member of the New Life Center. He loved hunting, fishing and watching baseball and football.

He is survived by his wife: Glenna Rishel Campbell, whom he married on March 14, 1981; children: Jeffrey (Laura) Campbell of Slippery Rock, Jerry Campbell of New Bethlehem, and Jennifer Butler of Virginia; stepchildren: Belinda (Scott) Hunter of Kittanning, and Richard (Christina) Battick of Shelocta; nine grandchildren: Seth (Haylez) Campbell, Shane (Kristen) Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Brok Campbell, Jacob Campbell, Billy Hunter, Sarah Hunter, Alyssa Battick and Allan Battick; and two great-grandchildren: Noah and Penelope Campbell.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister: Bonnie Lorraine.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City. Additional visitation will be from 10AM until time of service at 11AM on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 with Pastor Craig Riggle officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.

The family requests donations be made to Richard Laube Cancer Center or American Cancer Society.
