OBIT: Helen D. (Suwala) Hughan (Ford City)

Helen D. (Suwala) Hughan, 94 of Ford City, went with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 14, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 6, 1921 in Ford City to Peter and Catherine (Danko) Suwala.

Helen enjoyed embroidery, cooking Polish ethnic food, gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She loved to make Pirohi, cabbage rolls and pies for friends and family. She was a prayer warrior for anybody and was one who you could look to for guidance.

Helen loved her flower garden and taking care of her home and yard, but was totally devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as she attended all her family’s sporting events.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM tomorrow - Friday, April 17, 2015 - at the Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City.

A prayer service will be held at 9:30AM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the funeral home before funeral services at 10AM at St. Lawrence Church in Cadogan.

Father Alan Grote will officiate.

Interment will be in St. Francis of Paola Cemetery.
