OBIT: George Ralph Johnson, Sr. (Kittanning)
George Ralph Johnson Sr., 69, of Kittanning, died Monday, April 13, 2015, in Armstrong County Health Center.
He was born December 10, 1945, in Sharpsburg, to Lester and Bessie (Wait) Johnson.
George was a resident of Kittanning for 18 years.
He was a stationary engineer and owned the Oakwood Tavern in Kittanning.
George was a Vietnam War veteran.
He was a member of Kittanning Men’s Club, Kittanning Elks Lodge, the VFW and he was a Mason. He also liked to hunt, fish and trap.
George is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Johnson of Kittanning; son, George Johnson Jr. of Kittanning; daughter, Michelle (Darrin) Faller of Chesapeake, Va.; six grandchildren: Ashley Faller, Zachery Faller, Travis Faller, Jade Johnson, Jahni Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson; sister, Marilyn Weimer of West View; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lester Johnson.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM Friday, April 17, 2015, at the Kennedy and Blodgett Funeral Home in Kittanning.
Additional viewing will be held from 10AM until time of service at 11AM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the funeral home.
The Reverend David Croyle, minister of Family Life Church, will be officiating. Interment will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park.
