OBIT: Helen G. Beckett (Kittanning)

Helen G. Beckett, 88 of Kittanning, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Country Manor Personal Care Home.

She was born August 22, 1926 in Missouri to Washington Slagle and Hannah (Hooks) Slagle-Bowser.

Helen was a member of Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church.

She liked canning, baking, gardening and working on the family dairy farm.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Bernie) Craig of Kittanning; three grandchildren: Shelley (Heather) Sacik of New Castle, John Scott (and Joni Wolfe) Sacik of Worthington and Jeffrey (Karina) Sacik of Johnstown; three great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; brother,Glenn Bowser of Adrian; two sister-in-laws: Mildred Grafton of Kittanning and Dorothy Grafton of Kittanning; brother-in-law, Jay Beckett of Applewold; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, Floyd Beckett; brother, Paul Bowser; sister, Jean Sacik; three sister-in-laws: Stella Bowser, Clara Dee Beckett and Sara Grafton; and three brother-in-laws: Leroy Grafton, Warren Grafton and Chalmer Grafton.

Friends will be received from 7-9PM tomorrow - Friday, April 10, 2015 - at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington.

Additional visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9PM Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the funeral home, and from 1PM until the time of funeral services at 2PM Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Mark Davis will be officiating.

Interment will be in Slate Lick Cemetery.
