OBIT: Mark P. Dedo (Manorville)

Mark P. Dedo, 69 of Manorville, died Monday, April 6, 2015 at his residence.

He was born October 16, 1945 in Pittsburgh to Albert and Margaret (Vuckan) Dedo.

A lifelong community resident, Mark was a retired supervisor from Babcock and Wilcox in Apollo.

He fought with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart (awarded to those wounded or killed while serving).

Of the Catholic Faith, Mark was a member of the Ford City VFW, was a military history buff, and enjoyed games of chance and sports.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (and Scott) Woodford of Schwenksville (Montgomery County) Pa.; two grandchildren: Christopher and Hannah; brother, David (and Jae) Dedo of Birmingham, Ala.; sister, Nancy (and Duane) Walborn of Medford, N.J.; and life companion, Margaret Hemphill.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM today - Wednesday, April 8, 2015 - at the Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City.

A prayer service will be held at 9:30AM tomorrow - Thursday, April 9, 2015 - at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Christ Prince of Peace Parish.

The Father Bryan Summers will officiate.

Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
