OBIT: Dorothy M. Van Dyke (Kittanning)
Dorothy M. (Jewell) Van Dyke, 80, of Kittanning, died Monday, April 6, 2015 at Kittanning Care Center.
Dorothy was born September 2, 1934 in Rural Valley, the daughter of the late John S. and Genevive (Weaver) Jewell. She loved her many cats, had a “green thumb” as every plant she touched thrived, and enjoyed shopping and reading.
She is survived by her daughter: Cindy L. Calarie and her husband, Frederick C. Rice; grandchildren: Sue Ann DiNunzio (Sebastian), Alexandria M. Rice, Vincent Van Dyke and Ashley Van Dyke, Stephanie Rice and Carly Rice; two great-grandchildren: Cole DeNunzio and Braelyn Wilson; and sister: Betty Rae Reefer.
Dorothy was predeceased in death by her husband: Cecil (Jack) Van Dyke; her son: Randy J. Van Dyke; sisters: Ruth Hayes and Faye Siebert; her brothers: Roy Jewell and Paul Jewell.
At Dorothy’s request, there will be no public visitation.
Interment will be at the Rural Valley Cemetery.
