OBIT: Charles W. “Chuck” Minich (Brick Church)
Charles W. “Chuck” Minich, 67, of Brick Church, Pa., passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.
He was born October 18, 1947, in Kittanning, the son of Howard L. and Evelyn E. (Snyder) Minich.
Chuck was a lifelong resident of Brick Church and honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Equitable Gas until his retirement, and he then began working for Operating Engineers Local 66.
Chuck was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church of Brick Church and served as the secretary for the Burrell Township Fire Company.
He loved all sports and spent his free time hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling, and was a member of several leagues.
Chuck leaves behind to cherish his memory his two brothers: James Minich and wife, Donna, of Ford City, and Michael Minich and wife, Sue, of Lancaster; four sisters: Joyce Pavetti and husband, Keith, of Penrose, Colo., Carol Byrne and husband, Jack, of Bolivia, North Carolina, Patricia Mitchell, of Elderton, and Tammy Tarosky and husband, Dan, of Pittsburgh; 15 nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and sister-in-law, Linda Minnich of Dewittville, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Minich.
Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 and 7-9 PM tomorrow - Friday, March 27, 2015 - at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home in Elderton.
Additional visitation will be from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 11AM on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Hawk officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Ford City.
