A dog found on the side of Route 268 in Sugarcreek Township last Monday morning is back with its owner.
The mixed breed black dog was found to have a broken right paw when approached by Trooper Anthony Vaccaro just north of Sugarcreek Park.
“The dog was pleasant and showed no signs of aggression,” Vaccaro wrote in the State Police report.
However, the dog was unclaimed, and was in danger of being euthanized if they did not come forward or the dog was adopted. The right paw needs to be splinted or amputated, according to State Police.
According to Kittanning Veterinary Hospital officials, owners identified the dog Tuesday afternoon.
