OBIT: Robert Eugene Ferguson (born in Manorville)

Robert Eugene Ferguson, 86 of Gloucester, Mass. died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester, Mass.

He was born April 8, 1928 in Manorville to James and Edna B. (McKinatry) Ferguson.

Robert was an entrepreneur and small business owner.

Robert graduated from Kittanning High School. He and wife, Rose Marie, made Ford City their home for 17 years, where all five children were born. During that time, he worked in the family business, Ferguson Fabricating, in Kittanning, before going to work in Indiana, Illinois and Kansas before returning to Indianapolis in 1982 starting a business in meter repair which he ran with his son for 20 years.

Of the Lutheran faith, Robert was also a Korean War veteran, serving with the U.S. Air Force. He was a very proud veteran, and enlisted for three years but then was disabled.

He played banjo in a band, was a Ford car enthusiast, an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame Fighting Irish and last but not least, a western movie buff with his favorite of John Wayne.

Bob and Rose Marie retired to Sun City, Bluffton South Carolina - their dream come true.

Robert is survived by four daughters: Pamela Lane and husband Peter of Gloucester, Mass., Lori Ferguson of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Beth Harbin, and husband Steve, of Lynnfield, Mass. and Diane Bruining and husband Rick of Eldorado Hills, Calif.; son, David Ferguson and wife Diane of Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandsons: Aaron Gregory of Puerto Rico, Jason Gregory of San Antonio, Texas, Ryan Moore and fiancee Kristina Johnson of Gloucester, Mass., Mark Gregory of San Francisco, Calif., Derrick Ferguson and fiancee Courtney Collins of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Brody Petrucciani of Eldorado, Calif.; granddaughter, Breanna Petrucciani of Allendale, Michigan; two sisters: Patricia Desidero and husband, Tom, of Kittanning and Marilee Eddinger of Angier, North Carolina; and brother, Gerald Ferguson and wife, Amy, of Chestertown, Maryland.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Rose Marie (Baculik) Ferguson of Ford City on March 21, 2012; and siblings, Lois Shira and James Ferguson.

Friends will be received from 4-7PM tomorrow - Friday, March 13, 2015 - at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the Grace Lutheran Church in Manorville.

The Rev. Jack Delk of Grace Lutheran Church will officiate.

Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Ford City.
