OBIT: Michael “Bolo” Csir (Kittanning)

Michael “Bolo” Csir, 89 of Kittanning, died Thursday, January 22, 2014 in Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Ford City to John and Elizabeth (Balog) Csir.

A lifelong community resident, Michael worked in PPG in Ford City for 34 years in the maintenance department and was an official for WPIAL sports (for which he was inducted into the Armstrong County Sports Hall of Fame).

Michael served with the United States Marines during World War II in the South Pacific.

Michael attended the Union Avenue Methodist Church in Kittanning, was a lifetime member of the Kittanning Elks and a member of the VFW in Pattonville.

He was honored by the county for never missing an election to vote, and really enjoyed anything sports related.

Michael is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vesta (Shannon) Csir of Kittanning, who he married on May 30, 1958; son, Ronald (Linda) Potter of Apollo; daughter, Lorene “Lori” (Daniel) Sukala of Kittanning; family member, Brian Smilklo of North Carolina, whom the Csir’s raised like a son; three grandsons: Ryan (Emily) Potter, of Murrysville, Ross Potter of Apollo and Cory Sukala of Louisiana; great-grandson, Keith Potter of Murrysville; brother, Joseph Csir of Crestline, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Csir; and sister, Regina Boylestein.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8PM Sunday - January 25, 2015 - at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be available from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 11AM at the funeral home.

The Rev. John W. Snyder will officiate.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
