OBIT: Margaret Bryant (Ford City)

Margaret Joann Bryant, 66, of Ford City, died, Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, PA .

She was born October 2, 1948 in Ford City, daughter of Sandy M.. and Pearl (Riley) Bryant, Sr.

She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Bristol, PA: she earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University in Social Work and Master of Art in Criminal Justice from the University of Pittsburgh. Margaret worked for Children and Youth Services of Armstrong County for 13 years as a social worker and Community Alternatives in New Castle, PA for 18 years as therapist. Margaret was a lifelong member of the Second Baptist Church and over the years served on several different ministries. She was a dedicated mother and loyal friend. She enjoyed crafts, doing floral arrangements and shopping.

Surviving are daughter: Felicia (Eric) Dawson of Philadelphia, PA; sons: Alexander Bryant of Ford City, and Andrew Bryant of Ford City; brother: Edward (Cheryl) Bryant of Toledo, OH, Sandy (Barbara) Bryant, Jr. of Newport, MN, and John Bryant of Fresno, CA.; sister: Mamie (James Cauley) Taylor of FL.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Jack and Kenneth Bryant; and three sisters: Rose Echols, Julia Fields and Betty C. Fenwick.

Friends will be received at the at the Welch Funeral Home in Ford City, on Friday, January 23, 2015, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM.

Additional visitation will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at 11:30 AM at the Second Baptist Church, Ford City with the Reverend Ken Commodore officiating. Interment will follow in the Ford City Cemetery.
