OBIT: Jean “Gena” Righettini (Rural Valley)
Jean “Gena” Righettini, 96, of Rural Valley, passed away on January 10, 2015 at ACMH Hospital.
She was born on February 24, 1918 to Giovoni and Lucy (Bello) Cicchiani in Rural Valley. She graduated from Rural Valley High School in 1936 and from Comptometer School in 1953. She was an analyst in the main office of the Manufacturer’s National Bank in Detroit. Gena was also the past president of the American Legion Auxiliary - Post 472 in Melvindale, Michigan. She also worked at Consolidated Vultee Aircraft in Downy, CA. and the for P.R. Printing and Decorating in Phoenix, AR. Lastly, she worked in the Redemption center in Phoenix Arizona where she lived for 39 years with her husband Lewis. She came back to Rural Valley after his death in 1984.
She was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Roman Catholic Church in Yatesboro where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Gena was also a social member of the William Penn Association. She loved to shop, read and crochet crafts.
Gena is survived by her two brothers: Melio Cicchiani of FL and John Cicchiani of Chicago, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Lewis Righettini; her parents; two sisters: Nellie Szymberski and Mary Harmuth; and her brothers: Geno and Anthony Cicchiani.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home in Rural Valley. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at 11AM at the St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Yatesboro with the Reverend Alan Grote officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Mary’s R.C. Cemetery, Yatesboro.
